Mannol
Company History
The company Sudheimer Car Technik Vertriebs GmbH, which owns the Mannol trademark, was founded in Germany in 1993. To this day, the company’s headquarters are located in Wedel (Schleswig-Holstein). The first Mannol oils came off the production line in 1996 and immediately began to be sold across Europe. Initially, Mannol oils were produced in Belgium at the Wolf Oil Corporation SA plant. Since 2007, after the company acquired a lubricant production and filling plant and carried out its complete renovation, Mannol has been produced at the SCT Lubricants facility.
Mannol Today
Today, SCT Lubricants is one of the most advanced factories in Europe, producing high-quality lubricants to meet the needs of customers in 120 countries across five continents. The plant offers more than 500 types of oils, lubricants, and fluids for almost all passenger cars, trucks, buses, marine transport, and motorcycles. Such excellent performance indicators have been achieved благодаря the most modern production equipment, comprehensive quality control, and a well-coordinated team of employees.
Factory Information
The total area of the plant is 100,000 m², which is approximately equal to 14 football fields. A workforce of 180 employees operates here daily. The total indoor area, including office buildings, laboratories, production, and warehouse facilities, is 50,000 m². The tank storage system can simultaneously hold up to 40 million liters of various lubricants and other fluids. Every day, 420 tons of finished products are shipped from the plant to customers all over the world.
Laboratory and Quality Control
Investments in the company’s own laboratory amounted to €1.5 million, and new equipment is continuously purchased every year. All samples in the laboratory are tested in accordance with ASTM standards. Oil quality is checked at three stages:
- During production
- During storage in tanks
- During the filling of finished products
OEM Approvals
Currently, SCT Lubricants holds more than 30 certificates confirming the highest quality of its products. The quality of Mannol oils is approved and recommended by well-known automobile manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Volvo, Renault, and MAN.
In-House Packaging Production
SCT Lubricants is one of the few companies that has its own production of plastic and metal packaging, launched in 2012. Investments in this production exceeded €9 million. Can production at the Mannol plant is carried out on fully automated lines with a capacity of 80,000 metal cans per day and 160,000 plastic containers per day. More than 250 tons of raw materials are used monthly for plastic packaging production. Each produced container undergoes quality and leak-tightness testing.
Finished Goods Warehouse
The warehouse’s initial capacity—40,000 m² in area and 12 meters in height—allows it to handle large volumes of products. Every day, 35 employees and 28 forklifts operate in the warehouse. The storage capacity exceeds 15,000 pallet spaces, while daily shipments amount to 420 tons of finished products. Each month, 330 trucks and sea containers, as well as 40 railway wagons, pass through the SCT Lubricants facility, delivering Mannol lubricants worldwide.
Oil Filling
The Mannol oil filling department uses 15 different fully automated filling lines with a total capacity of 600 tons per day. All filling lines are connected to a central computer and equipped with multiple control systems, completely eliminating the possibility of human error.
